The Swiss Smart Factory (SSF), based in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, is the first fully operational test and demonstration platform for Industry 4.0 in the country. Operated by the Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne, SSF serves as a collaborative ecosystem where companies, research institutions, and start-ups develop, test, and implement innovative manufacturing solutions.Its focus areas include digitalized production, industrial IoT, robotics, additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and data-driven process optimization. SSF provides a real-world factory environment for piloting new technologies, validating use cases, and accelerating market readiness.Through open collaboration, networking events, and applied research projects, the Swiss Smart Factory fosters innovation, knowledge transfer, and sustainable competitiveness in Swiss and international manufacturing industries.
